French viticulturist Emilio Bouchón-Poitvin arrived in Chile from Saint-Emilion in 1887. He acquired the Angostura Estate in the Colchagua Valley in 1892 and built his home and winery and planted his first vineyards there.
He always referred to his new home as the “Casa Amada” (beloved home), and indeed it was. Over the next 100 years it was home to five generations of his family. Today the Casa Amada is an inviting boutique hotel that receives both tourists and customers who feel and experience the history of a family that is passionate about wine.
